SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

305 ILCS 5/5-55 new

Amends the Medical Assistance Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that the reimbursement rates in effect on the effective date of the amendatory Act for optometrist services shall be increased by 35%. Effective immediately.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning public aid.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by adding Section 5-55 as follows:

(305 ILCS 5/5-55 new)

Sec. 5-55. Optometric services; reimbursement rates. Notwithstanding any other law or rule to the contrary, the reimbursement rates set forth in the Department's provider fee schedule that are in effect on the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 103rd General Assembly for optometrist services under CPT codes 92004, 92014, 92015, 99202, 99203, 99204, 92340, 92341, 99212, 99213, and 99214 shall be increased by 35%. As used in this Section, "CPT code" means the medical billing code set contained in the most recent version of the Current Procedural Terminology code book published by the American Medical Association.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
