SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

305 ILCS 5/5-35.5 new

Amends the Medical Assistance Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that, for a person who resides in a facility licensed under the Nursing Home Care Act and who is determined to be eligible for medical assistance, the monthly personal needs allowance shall be $60.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning public aid.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by adding Section 5-35.5 as follows:

(305 ILCS 5/5-35.5 new)

Sec. 5-35.5. Personal needs allowance. For a person who is a resident in a facility licensed under the Nursing Home Care Act for whom payments are made under this Article throughout a month and who is determined to be eligible for medical assistance under this Article, the monthly personal needs allowance shall be $60.
