SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
305 ILCS 5/12-4.57 new

    Amends the Administration Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that beginning July 1, 2023, and each State fiscal year thereafter, the Department of Healthcare and Family Services shall increase the Prospective Payment System rates for federally qualified health centers by $100,000,000 using an alternative payment method acceptable to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and a trade association representing a majority of federally qualified health centers operating in Illinois, including a rate increase that is an equal percentage increase to the rates paid to each federally qualified health center. Effective July 1, 2023.

1    AN ACT concerning public aid.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
5adding Section 12-4.57 as follows:
 
6    (305 ILCS 5/12-4.57 new)
7    Sec. 12-4.57. Prospective Payment System rates; increase
8for federally qualified health centers. Beginning July 1,
92023, and each State fiscal year thereafter, the Department of
10Healthcare and Family Services shall increase the Prospective
11Payment System rates for federally qualified health centers by
12$100,000,000 using an alternative payment method acceptable to
13the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and a trade
14association representing a majority of federally qualified
15health centers operating in Illinois, including a rate
16increase that is an equal percentage increase to the rates
17paid to each federally qualified health center.
 
18    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1,
192023.
