SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Arlon Lee "Bant" Anderson of Moline, who passed away on April 22, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Bant Anderson, the son of Tompie and Minnie (Vickery) Anderson, was born in Quincy, Mississippi on February 28, 1932; he served in the U.S. Army for two years, spending one year in Germany; and

WHEREAS, Bant Anderson worked at John Deere for over 30 years, retiring in 1989; and

WHEREAS, Bant Anderson enjoyed golfing and spending winters in Florida; above all else, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Bant Anderson was preceded in death by his parents; his stepson, Michael Golden; his granddaughter, Lori Luna; and 10 siblings; and

WHEREAS, Bant Anderson is survived by his children, Carolyn (John) Perez, Deb (Jack) Slater, and Bruce Golden; his grandchildren, Tedgie (T.C. Christopher) Wright-Christopher, Jonathan (Ellie) Perez, Jeffrey (Emma) Perez, Allen (Kate) Wallace, Melissa (Clinton) Bell, and Jaclyn Slater; his great-grandchildren, Caden Wright, Chloe Hodgerson, Noah Christopher, Georgia Perez, Forrest Perez, Theodore Perez, Jake Brandt, Adelle Wallace, Vivian Wallace, Jak Bell, Lily Luna, and Brock Luna; and his siblings, Donald Anderson and Linda (Dale) Mitchell; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Arlon Lee "Bant" Anderson and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bant Anderson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
