SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of James "Jim" Kampe of East Moline, who passed away on April 3, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Jim Kampe was born to Herbert and Catherine Kostecka Kampe in Chicago on January 22, 1947; he served in the U.S. Army Special Forces; he married Barbara Eakins in Las, Vegas, Nevada on March 14, 2001; and

WHEREAS, Jim Kampe owned and operated Kampe Vending for many years; and

WHEREAS, Jim Kampe was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters; and

WHEREAS, Jim Kampe is survived by his wife; his children, Tammy Kinney, Jamie Kampe, Keli Kampe, and Katherine Kampe; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his brother, Frank Kampe; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of James "Jim" Kampe and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jim Kampe as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
