SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Stuart G. McKneight of Pekin, who
4passed away on September 4, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Stuart McKneight was born to Gibson and Esther
6(Olson) McKneight in Minneapolis, Minnesota on August 24,
71933; he served in the U.S. Army; he earned his bachelor's
8degree in mechanical engineering from the University of
9Minnesota in 1956; he married Ulla Lindenfelser in East Peoria
10on June 22, 1958, and she preceded him in death on August 13,
112003; he later married Mary Jean Nauman in Kickapoo on October
121, 2005; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Stuart McKneight worked as a service engineer and
14manager with Caterpillar Inc. for over 40 years before
15retiring in 1997; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Stuart McKneight was a member of the East Peoria
17First United Methodist Church for over 66 years, where he
18volunteered as a Sunday school teacher, served as chairman of
19the Administration Board and the Board of Trustees, and
20participated in various other committees and activities; he
21was also a past president of the Peoria Knife and Fork Club;
22and

1    WHEREAS, Stuart McKneight was preceded in death by his
2parents; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Stuart McKneight is survived by his wife; his
4children, Brian (Stacy) McKneight, Laura (Steve) Hart, and
5Paul (Laura) McKneight; his grandchildren, Aaron (Alma)
6McKneight, Emily (Eric) Esser, Morgan (Nick) Bonifazi, and
7Philip McKneight; and his great-grandchildren, Jayson
8McKneight, Logan McKneight, William Esser, and Thomas Esser;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Stuart G. McKneight and extend our sincere condolences to his
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Stuart McKneight as an expression
17of our deepest sympathy.
