SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Benny Alan Sweet of East Moline, who passed away on January 2, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Benny Sweet was born to Ben Lee and Mary Jane (Matthews) Sweet in Davenport, Iowa on July 7, 1954; he served in the U.S. Army; and

WHEREAS, Benny Sweet served as a paramedic at the Illini Medical Center in Silvis for 30 years; he retired in 2010; and

WHEREAS, Benny Sweet was an avid golfer; he also enjoyed fishing and cooking; and

WHEREAS, Benny Sweet is survived by his son, Bentley Sweet; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Benny Alan Sweet and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Benny Sweet as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
