SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Gary R. Lentz of Colona, who passed away on December 14, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Gary Lentz was born to Morris R. and Karen (Christensen) Lentz in Iowa City, Iowa on January 19, 1943; he served in the U.S. Army; he married Linda Dobrinske in Colona on June 13, 1964; and

WHEREAS, Gary Lentz worked for the former Rock Island Lines and the Burlington Northern Railroad; and

WHEREAS, Gary Lentz enjoyed hunting, fishing, and dancing; and

WHEREAS, Gary Lentz was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Lynn Duff; and

WHEREAS, Gary Lentz is survived by his wife, Linda; his children, Todd (Jody) Lentz, Don Lentz, and Dina (Nelson Munoz) Lentz; his grandchildren, Holly, Heather, Hope, Kaden, Chastity, Kayleigh, Stephanie, and Chelsea; his great-grandchildren, Ava, Elaina, Terry, Calvin, Tyson, and Zachary; and his siblings, Gail Duff, Sherry Jipp, Marlene Duff, and Jay Lentz; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Gary R. Lentz and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Gary Lentz as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
