SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Raymond "Ray" T. Doeckel Jr. of Silvis, who passed away on December 11, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Ray Doeckel was born to Raymond T. Sr. and Rosalie (DeVinck) Doeckel in Rock Island on February 16, 1941; he graduated from Alleman High School in 1959 and served in the U.S. Army; he married Maria Lourdes Pompa at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Silvis on May 13, 1967; and

WHEREAS, Ray Doeckel retired from John Deere Parts in Milan; and

WHEREAS, Ray Doeckel enjoyed watching dirt track races and was a huge dog lover; and

WHEREAS, Ray Doeckel was preceded in death by his son, Norman, and his brother, Maurice; and

WHEREAS, Ray Doeckel is survived by his wife, Maria; his son, Mark (Tracy) Doeckel; his grandchildren, Heather Davis and Shalome Johnson; his cousins, Joan, Darlene, Bob, and Linda; his many brothers and sisters-in-laws; and his nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Raymond "Ray" T. Doeckel and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ray Doeckel as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
