SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert "Butch" Wojtowicz of Granite City, who passed away on December 8, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Robert Wojtowicz was born to John and Otillia (Hoffman) Wojtowicz in DuBois on January 23, 1951; he graduated from Granite City High School in 1969; he married Barbara J. (Hensel) Wojtowicz at the Affton Presbyterian Church in Affton, Missouri on January 18, 2003; and

WHEREAS, Robert Wojtowicz worked for the Illinois Terminal and Norfolk and Southern Railroad for 18 years as a railroad carman; he had also served as the director of Christmas in April for several years; and

WHEREAS, Robert Wojtowicz was a member of the Granite City Elks Lodge; and

WHEREAS, Robert Wojtowicz had a love for horses, enjoyed his early days of playing baseball, and loved a day of fishing; and

WHEREAS, Robert Wojtowicz was preceded in death by his parents and his twin brothers, Herman and Henry Wojtowicz; and

WHEREAS, Robert Wojtowicz is survived by his beloved wife; his son, Kenneth (Kathy) Wojtowicz; his daughter, Jennifer (Allan) Cochran; his four grandchildren, Ann Wojtowicz, Jon Wojtowicz, Delaney Cochran, and Harper Cochran; his two great-grandchildren, Trevor Rivenburgh and Carson Miller; his sister, Marcella (Orland) Haun; and his other extended family members and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert "Butch" Wojtowicz and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert Wojtowicz as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
