SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Steffen "Steve" R. Weinert of Taylor Ridge, who passed away on December 9, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Steve Weinert was born to Otto and Mary (Bulens) Weinert in Rock Island on October 2, 1938; he served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1960; he married Judy Norton on August 3, 1963; and

WHEREAS, Steve Weinert retired from the Army Corp of Engineers in 2000; and

WHEREAS, Steve Weinert was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Joanie Weinert and Jackie Klauer; his nephew, Kent Klauer; and his grandson, Dylan Weinert; and

WHEREAS, Steve Weinert is survived by his wife, Judy; his children, Lisa (Roy) Steichen, Gerry (Bonnie) Weinert, Clint (Glenda) Weinert, Lynne Haines, and Eric (Michele) Weinert; his 13 grandchildren; his 10 great-grandchildren; his brother, Ed (Anna) Weinert; his two nieces; and his six nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Steffen "Steve" R. Weinert and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Steve Weinert as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
