SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Donald E. Hargrave of Coyne Center,
4who passed away on January 31, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Donald Hargrave was born in Flora to Clarence and
6Eva (Lewis) Hargrave on January 8, 1928; he married Marilyn P.
7"Lynn" Boyd in Rock Island on February 4, 1951, and she
8preceded him in death on April 13, 2017; he served in the U.S.
9Army during the Korean War; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Donald Hargrave was employed at the Rock Island
11Arsenal for 39 years, and he retired as the division chief of
12transportation; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Donald Hargrave was a member of the Community of
14Christ Church in Moline and the Milan American Legion Post
15569; he was a charter member and past chief of the Coyne Center
16Fire Department; he enjoyed golfing in his earlier years,
17flying radio controlled airplanes, and recording videos of his
18children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; his favorite
19moments were those spent with his family and friends; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Donald Hargrave was preceded in death by his
21parents; his wife; his daughter, Deborah Lynn Hargrave; his

1brother, Robert Hargrave; and his sisters, Betty Lou Jackson
2and Harriet Bealer; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Donald Hargrave is survived by his children,
4Thomas E. Hargrave, Roger E. (Dea) Hargrave, and T.J.
5Hargrave; his grandchildren, Tina Wallace, Jessica Hart, Erin
6(Brad) Bannerman, Heather (John) Doerr, Chad Hargrave, and
7Maggie (Richard) Olsen; his 14 great-grandchildren; and his
8many nieces, nephews, and their families; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Donald E. Hargrave and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Donald Hargrave as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
