SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Francescio "Frank" M. Ramirez of Moline, who passed away on November 6, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Frank Ramirez was born to Florencio and Emelia (Robles) Ramirez in Moline on October 4, 1928; he married Elvira "Vera" Cervantes in Moline on February 2, 1952; he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and received the Purple Heart, the Korean Service Medal, and the National Defense Medal; he was also a Golden Gloves boxer; and

WHEREAS, Frank Ramirez worked for John Deere Harvester, East Moline and Rock Island Packaging; and

WHEREAS, Frank Ramirez was a member of the Friends Circle Club, the Svithoid Club, and the former Turner's Club, Moline; and

WHEREAS, Frank Ramirez enjoyed playing picks, golfing, and bowling; and

WHEREAS, Frank Ramirez was preceded in death by his wife; his grandson, Steven McKean; his sisters, Jenny Bustos, Mary Solis, Helen Mosqueda, and Vera Ramirez; and his brothers, Manuel Ramirez, John Ramirez, and Florencio "Lencho" Ramirez; and

WHEREAS, Frank Ramirez is survived by his children, Pam (Jim) Nye, Mark Ramirez, Cindy (Jerry) Timm, and Paul Ramirez; his grandchildren, Jason (Jen) McKean, Kristin (Sarabia) Johnson, Chris (Charity) Ramirez, Joshua (Emily) Ramirez, Jess (Dee) Timm, Melissa (Robert) Goodwin, and Ryan Sanders; his 12 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Joe (Helen) Ramirez; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Francescio "Frank" M. Ramirez and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Frank Ramirez as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
