SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Nancy Grist of Edwardsville, who passed away on September 20, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Nancy Grist was born to Doba D. and Betty (Harris) Jackson in Ypsilanti, Michigan on January 27, 1937; she married Arthur "Art" Grist in Detroit on June 25, 1960; and

WHEREAS, Nancy Grist was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Doba D. Jackson Jr.; and

WHEREAS, Nancy Grist is survived by her husband of 61 years; her sons, Arthur L. Grist Jr. and Michael L. (Barbara) Grist; her daughter, Michelle (John Paul) Merrifield; her four grandchildren; her one great-grandchild; and her sisters, Kay (Ron) Digs, Cheryl McNeal, and Sonnett Harris; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Nancy Grist and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Nancy Grist as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
