SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ray Torri of Rock Island, who passed away on January 16, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Ray Torri was born to Alfiera (Mazza) and Mario Torri in Joliet on September 29, 1936; he attended Sacred Heart Grade School and graduated from Joliet Catholic High School in 1955; he enlisted in the U.S. Army in June of 1957 and served for two years; and

WHEREAS, Ray Torri first worked for the telephone company and then for Hockenburg Rubin Food Brokers from 1965 until he retired at age 62; and

WHEREAS, Ray Torri enjoyed going to the gym, having coffee with the guys at Panera every Friday morning, and playing Euchre with friends and family; and

WHEREAS, Ray Torri was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Norbert; and his sister-in-law, Anne; and

WHEREAS, Ray Torri is survived by his wife, Barbara; his daughters, Janet, Patty, and Sharon; his two grandsons, James and Glenn; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Ray Torri and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ray Torri as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
