HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Scott Deitz on the occasion of his retirement from Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 101 in Belleville on January 1, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Scott Deitz has been a member in good standing of the United Association of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 101 since May 1, 1988; he started his career as a residential plumber for smaller local contractors, advancing to bigger projects, including commercial plumbing at hospitals, schools, and stores; he is a respected and capable leader on the job and in the office; and

WHEREAS, Scott Deitz has served as a member of Local 101's Executive Board, as President and as Business Manager and Financial Secretary Treasurer from December 2012 to January 2022; he has chaired the Local Pension, Health & Welfare, and JATC Committees; he also served on a committee for the Illinois State Pipe Trades; and

WHEREAS, Scott Deitz is a third generation member of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 101; and

WHEREAS, Scott Deitz married Marcy on September 15, 2016; he has three stepdaughters, Jennifer Weirich, Zoe Morehead, and Lexi Koch and one son-in-law, Nikolas Morehead; and

WHEREAS, Scott Deitz hopes to enjoy his retirement on the property they have on Bull Shoals Lake, boating and fishing, as well as traveling to see his family and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Scott Deitz on his retirement from Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 101, and we wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Scott Deitz as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
