1 HOUSE RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate the Cottage Grove Heights
4 Community Coalition on the occasion of its 25th anniversary;
5 and

6     WHEREAS, The Cottage Grove Heights Community Coalition was
7 founded by Daphne Skinner, a resident of Cottage Grove
8 Heights, on June 27, 1996 to address the pressing concerns,
9 issues, and needs of the community; on that day, more than one
10 hundred residents of Cottage Grove Heights joined together to
11 start a proactive group; and

12     WHEREAS, The Cottage Grove Heights Community Coalition's
13 initial goal was to make Cottage Grove Heights a healthy
14 community by establishing community services and activities
15 for all age groups; and

16     WHEREAS, The Cottage Grove Heights Community Coalition
17 became a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization on October 17,
18 1996; and

19     WHEREAS, The Cottage Grove Heights Community Coalition's
20 mission is to enhance community awareness, provide community
21 services, and promote the development, establishment, or

1 expansion of industries; therefore, be it

2     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
3 HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
4 we congratulate the Cottage Grove Heights Community Coalition
5 on its 25th anniversary, and we wish it many more wonderful
6 years; and be it further

7     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to the Cottage Grove Heights Community Coalition as
9 a symbol of our respect and esteem.
