HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of James Sisson, who passed away on April 23, 2021; and

WHEREAS, James Sisson was deeply committed to his faith and was a devoted member of Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church, serving as the choir director and in numerous other roles within the church; and

WHEREAS, James Sisson, from his earliest days, answered the call to help others through his work with Mary's Mission, providing toys, food, and joy to the children and families for the least among us, as if they were the dearest; and

WHEREAS, James Sisson leaves a legacy of service, providing thousands of free meals to the community and conducting school supply drives and book bag giveaways for our youth; and

WHEREAS, James Sisson was a devoted son, father, confidant, and close friend; he was a person who was always available to share an encouraging word or a shoulder to lean on; he touched all with his generous spirit and kindness and will always be remembered fondly; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of James Sisson and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of James Sisson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
