HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate the University of St.
4Francis Men's Bowling Team, the Fighting Saints, on winning
5the inaugural 2021 NAIA National Championship; and
 
6    WHEREAS, The University of St. Francis bowling program is
7in its 8th season; and
 
8    WHEREAS, The Saints were the 2020 Ebonite Warhawk Open
9Tournament champions; and
 
10    WHEREAS, The Saints were the runner up at the 2021 Hoosier
11Classic tournament, which has participants from top bowling
12teams from all over the nation and is considered a key
13tournament; and
 
14    WHEREAS, On March 26, 2021, the Saints won a series of
15victories, including winning six games in a row, to secure a
16chance at the championship the next day; and
 
17    WHEREAS, On March 27, 2021, the Saints won a 192-167
18victory over Martin Methodist College at Five Star Lanes in
19Sterling Heights, Michigan to win the 2021 NAIA National
20Championship; and

1    WHEREAS, The Saints have been coached this season by Head
2Coach Tony Talley and Assistant Coach Michael Kicmal; and
 
3    WHEREAS, The Saints are Theron Mitchell, Alec Dudley, Eric
4Kramer, Michael Nape Jr., Jacob Hubbs, Robert Kicmal, Brandon
5Williamson, and Chris Kelley; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
7HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
8we congratulate the University of St. Francis Men's Bowling
9Team of Joliet, the Fighting Saints, on winning the inaugural
102021 NAIA National Championship, and we honor them as models
11of hard work, dedication, and team spirit; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
13presented to Head Coach Tony Talley and Assistant Coach
14Michael Kicmal as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
