1 HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, It is highly fitting that the Illinois General
3 Assembly pays honor and respect to the truly great individuals
4 who have served our country and, in doing so, have made the
5 ultimate sacrifice for our nation; and

6     WHEREAS, Their sacrifice and service is a reminder that
7 freedom is not free but comes at a cost; and

8     WHEREAS, We should always remember the men and women who
9 helped preserve the freedoms that we all enjoy; therefore, be
10 it

11     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
12 HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE
13 SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that we designate Old US 50 in
14 Clinton County, Illinois as the "Clinton County Veterans
15 Memorial Road"; and be it further

16     RESOLVED, That the Illinois Department of Transportation
17 is requested to erect at suitable locations, consistent with
18 State and federal regulations, appropriate plaques or signs
19 giving notice of the name "Clinton County Veterans Memorial
20 Road"; and be it further

1     RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
2 presented to the Clinton County Board and the Secretary of the
3 Illinois Department of Transportation.
