AN ACT concerning safety.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Environmental Protection Act is amended by adding Section 22.62 as follows:

(415 ILCS 5/22.62 new)

Sec. 22.62. Pretreated seed ban; ethanol production.

(a) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, pretreated seeds shall not be used in the production of ethanol.

(b) In this Section, "pretreated seeds" means any manufactured seed that is treated before planting with pesticides, as that term is defined in Section 4 of the Illinois Pesticide Act.
