SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Rochelle Ellen Boyd of Lovington, who passed away on April 18, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Rochelle Boyd was born in Decatur to Charles R. and Rachel Nellie (Murphy) Taylor on June 19, 1939; she married Richard W. "Ike" Boyd in Lovington on September 14, 1957; and

WHEREAS, Rochelle Boyd taught dental assisting at Lakeland College for 25 years and was co-owner of Boyd's Bus Service; and

WHEREAS, Rochelle Boyd enjoyed playing cards, dancing with her husband, traveling, and singing; she loved her grandchildren with all of her heart; and

WHEREAS, Rochelle Boyd was preceded in death by her husband, Ike; her parents; her son-in-law, Dave Kinert; and her brother-in-law, John Schwartz; and

WHEREAS, Rochelle Boyd is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Diana) Boyd, Julie Kinert, and Jamison (Brandi) Boyd; her sisters, Karen (Gary) McCoy, Marsha Schwartz, and Kathy (Kent) Schwerin; her grandchildren, Nick (Candice) Boyd, Lauren (Craig) Kinert, Wyatt (Amanda) Ciszkowski, Tim (Rhi) Wickens, Rick (Makenzie) Boyd, Josiah (Bailee) Kinert, Makenna Boyd, Maddy Boyd, and Declan Boyd; 10 great-grandchildren; and seven nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Rochelle Ellen Boyd and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Rochelle Boyd as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
