SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Wade Bedwell of Blandinsville, who passed away on March 20, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Wade Bedwell was born to Bernard and Viola Irwin Bedwell in Industry on December 27, 1930; he initially resided in Industry before moving to Littleton and then Blandinsville; he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War; he married Barbara Joann Perry in Hersman on October 14, 1956, and she preceded him in death on December 18, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Wade Bedwell worked as a lineman for the Rural Electrification Administration (REA) and the McDonough Telephone Cooperative before becoming a proud farmer; and

WHEREAS, Wade Bedwell was a member of the Blandinsville United Methodist Church, the LaHarpe Masonic Lodge, and the Quincy Consistory; and

WHEREAS, Wade Bedwell was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Gary Bedwell; his brothers, Donnie and Duane Bedwell; and his daughter-in-law, Crystal Bedwell; and

WHEREAS, Wade Bedwell is survived by his children, Daryl (Pamala Doll) Bedwell and Crystal Pedroni; his grandchildren, Kristina (Chris) Maestranzi, Michael (Brittany) Pedroni, Carissa (Justin) Bryant, and Curtis Bedwell; and 10 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Wade Bedwell and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Wade Bedwell as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
