SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Beatrice Idleburg of Zion, who passed away on March 2, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Beatrice Idleburg was born to John Andrews and Gladys Dailey in Moss Point, Mississippi on September 19, 1937; she previously lived in Norcross, Georgia; she graduated from high school in Chicago; she married John D. Idleburg Sr. in Mound Bayou, Mississippi; and

WHEREAS, Before her retirement, Beatrice Idleburg worked at Sunset Foods in Lake Forest; and

WHEREAS, Beatrice Idleburg attended Ebenezer Baptist Church in Zion, where she was a member of the Mother's Board; she was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star; and

WHEREAS, Beatrice Idleburg was preceded in death by her husband; her daughter, Cheryl Thomas; her parents; her sisters, Helen McDay, Patricia Reed, and Elizabeth Andrews; and her brothers, John Andrews and Leon Lee Dailey; and

WHEREAS, Beatrice Idleburg is survived by her children, John D. (Pamela) Idleburg Jr., Diane Reed, Donald Idleburg, Leonard Idleburg, Nancy Collins, and Christopher Hughes; 24 grandchildren; 71 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; her siblings, Maggie Tyler, Geraldine Dailey, Henry Andrews, and Rev. James R. Andrews; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Beatrice Idleburg and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Beatrice Idleburg as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
