SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Priscilla (Burhans) Frampton, who
4passed away on June 30, 2022 at the age of 91; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Priscilla Frampton was born to Nathanial and
6Vaughtie Burhans on October 12, 1930; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Priscilla Frampton was a graduate of George
8Washington High School in Alexandria, Virginia and later
9earned a Bachelor of Science degree in English Education; she
10was in the I.L.S. (Integrated Liberal Arts Studies) program at
11the University of Wisconsin-Madison; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Priscilla Frampton worked as a paraprofessional
13librarian at the Maryland Enoch Pratt Free Library, the public
14library of Baltimore; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Priscilla Frampton continued her education by
16earning a Master of Arts degree in Library Science from the
17University of Michigan; she became a cataloger in the main
18library at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Priscilla Frampton met her husband, Elon W.
20Frampton, at the Wesley Foundation of the United Methodist

1Church, and they wed in Alexandria on August 16, 1958; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Priscilla Frampton and her husband settled in
3Houston, Texas when Elon joined the faculty at The University
4of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and later moved to
5DeKalb; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Priscilla Frampton volunteered in the learning
7center at Roberts School, served as a food pantry volunteer,
8participated in the Methodist Church book club, and was a
9seasonal worker in the Registration and Records Department at
10Northern Illinois University; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Priscilla Frampton was deeply passionate about
12current events, history, reading, cooking, and travel; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Priscilla Frampton was gifted at making lifelong
14friends wherever she went, and she will be greatly missed for
15her intellectual curiosity, sense of humor, smile, and, most
16of all, her loving presence; and
 
17    WHEREAS, At the time of her passing, Priscilla Frampton
18was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her
19sister, Barbara; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Priscilla Frampton is survived by her identical

1twin sister, Cynthia Burhans; her son, Richard; and her
2daughter, Gail; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Priscilla (Burhans) Frampton and extend our sincere
6condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
7her; and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Priscilla (Burhans) Frampton as an
10expression of our deepest sympathy.
