SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Thomas J. Manion of Rock Island, who passed away on February 22, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Manion was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin to William and Mary (O'Donnell) Manion on December 4, 1928; he served in the U.S. Army for nine years and later the U.S. Air Force for 11 years; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Manion worked as a corporate accountant for the A.D. Huesing Corporation for 18 years, retiring in 1990; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Manion was a member of the former Rock Island VFW Post 1303; he was also a former member of the Rock Island Moose Lodge and the Rock Island Eagles Club; he loved spending time with his family and enjoyed walking and swimming in his younger years; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Manion was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Winifred Zellmer, James Manion, Anne Bardoel, Eugene Manion, and Florence Huff; and his great-nephew, Michael Teager; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Manion is survived by his nephews, William (Sharon) and Thomas (Stacey) Teager, and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Nathan Teager, Kaitlyn (Nick Lisowski) Teager, Paige Teager, and Alexandra (Donald) Bell; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Thomas J. Manion of Rock Island and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Thomas Manion as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
