SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Clifford Wayne Findlay of East Moline, formerly of Moline, who passed away on December 13, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Clifford Findlay was born to Claude and Ella Mae (Laughlan) Findlay in Douds, Iowa on August 16, 1936; he graduated with the class of 1955 in Douds, Iowa; he served in the U.S. Army's 82nd Air Borne Division during the Korean War; he married Della Rich in Moline on November 20, 1960; and

WHEREAS, Clifford Findlay worked as a foreman in the trucking industry, retiring after 45 years; and

WHEREAS, Clifford Findlay was a member of the Hope United Church of Christ for over 60 years and served as president of the church bowling team for 45 years and was part of the men's Breakfast Club; and

WHEREAS, Clifford Findlay was known for being able to fix anything; he loved fishing with his friends and enjoyed gardening and sharing the garden with others; he kept a meticulous yard at his home; and

WHEREAS, Clifford Findlay was preceded in death by his three brothers, Ronnie, Hugh, and Earl, and his two sisters, Lorene and Irene; and

WHEREAS, Clifford Findlay is survived by his wife, Della; his daughter, Mari (David) Minor; his son, Mike (Anne) Findlay; his grandchildren, Ashley Minor, Eric Minor, Michael (Katie) Findlay, and Kelly (Reed) Hogan; and his great-granddaughter, Sophie Rae; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Clifford Wayne Findlay and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Clifford Findlay as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
