SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Myron A. Sergeant of Milan, who passed away April 25, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Myron Sergeant was born in Walnut to Charles and Maida Robinson Sergeant on July 9, 1931; he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and married Velma Rieker; and

WHEREAS, Myron Sergeant was a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 25 in Rock Island for 34 years; and

WHEREAS, Myron Sergeant was an avid fisherman; he enjoyed bowling, collecting flashlights and fishing reels, and dancing; and

WHEREAS, Myron Sergeant was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Joanne Garrison and her husband Guy; and his niece, Anne Garrison; and

WHEREAS, Myron Sergeant is survived by his life companion, Mary Young; his sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen and Brenda Sergeant, Lawrence Sergeant, and Charles and Karen Sergeant; his grandchildren, Kari Stewart, Scott Sergeant, Cody Sergeant, Bradley (Cristina) Whitcomb, Cortney (Chuck) Leuth, and Zoey Sergeant; and nine great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Myron A. Sergeant and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Myron Sergeant as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
