SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Judy L. Oakford of Peoria, who passed away on December 26, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Judy Oakford was born to Frank A. and Ruth Little in Chicago on November 22, 1934; she married Arthur Oakford in Peoria on May 27, 1954; and

WHEREAS, Judy Oakford was a pillar in the Peoria community and touched the lives of many through her philanthropic efforts and passion for volunteering; and

WHEREAS, Judy Oakford was a devoted wife, mother, and friend who cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; she lived a true and unselfish life full of gratitude; and

WHEREAS, Judy Oakford was preceded in death by his parents; her daughters, Lynne Anderson, Susan Champion, and Kitty Miller; her brother, Dennis Little; and her sister, Jane Little Milliken; and

WHEREAS, Judy Oakford is survived by her husband; her daughter, Betsy (Tom) Hamilton; her two sons-in-laws, Steve Anderson and Mike Champion; her nine grandchildren; her sixteen great-grandchildren; and her brother, Frank (Gail) Little; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Judy L. Oakford and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Judy Oakford as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
