SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Thelma Cornell Spain of Des Plaines, who passed away on November 17, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Thelma Spain earned over 600 awards for her watercolor paintings, all of which were inspired by her deep faith and are displayed in thousands of collections around the world; and

WHEREAS, Thelma Spain served as a prayer warrior for her family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Thelma Spain was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Holmes Spain, and her children, Jeffrey H. Spain and Laurie M. Spain; and

WHEREAS, Thelma Spain is survived by her daughter, Valerie C. Kaiser; her five grandchildren; her four great-grandchildren; and her many friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Thelma Cornell Spain and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Thelma Spain as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
