SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Richard G. Moritz Sr. of Milan, who passed away on October 10, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Richard Moritz was born to George and Opal (Bayness) Moritz on February 13, 1939; he served in the U.S. Air Force and married Sharon M. Reding on May 12, 1961, and she preceded him in death on October 1, 2007; he married Linda Twitty on April 4, 2008; and

WHEREAS, Richard Moritz worked as an inspector and repairman at Farmall for many years; he retired from Navistar in 1993; and

WHEREAS, Richard Moritz's hobbies included riding motorcycles and snowmobiles, working on old hot rods, and following Nascar; and

WHEREAS, Richard Moritz was preceded in death by his first wife, Sharon; his son, Joe Dale Moritz; and his sister, Phyllis Kelley; and

WHEREAS, Richard Moritz is survived by his wife, Linda; his children, Richard "Rich" (Reya) and Randy (Lisa) Moritz; his grandchildren, Joseph, Kaylie, Seth, Zach, and Michael; his great-grandson, Ivan; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Richard G. Moritz Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Richard Moritz as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
