SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of John F. Carlson of Peoria, who passed away on September 8, 2022; and

WHEREAS, John Carlson was born to Francis C. and Frances (Doolan) Carlson in Peoria on April 26, 1951; and

WHEREAS, John Carlson previously worked as a director of administration at the Peoria County Health Department, a personnel director for Peoria County, and as the city administrator for West Peoria; and

WHEREAS, John Carlson was known for always being the life of the party and a magnetic force within his family; he adored his five grandchildren, who lovingly called him "Poppy"; he also possessed a deep spirituality; and

WHEREAS, John Carlson was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Joe Carlson; and

WHEREAS, John Carlson is survived by his daughter, Mary (Travis) Loux; his son, Michael (Abby); his grandchildren, Ruby, Lucy, Frances, Vincent, and Annie; his cousins, Vivian, Jim, Charlotte, Kelley, Peggy, and Wayne; and his former wife, Kathy Van Etten; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of John F. Carlson and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John Carlson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
