SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Cody W. Toenyes of Bethalto, who passed away on August 19, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Cody Toenyes was born to Jason and Patty (Meyers) Toenyes in Alton on May 17, 2000; he graduated from Civic Memorial High School; and

WHEREAS, Cody Toenyes started his career as a deckhand for Lewis and Clark Marine and quickly moved to fleet mate; his passion for building led him to work for PFund Construction; he was noted for being an incredibly hard worker; and

WHEREAS, Cody Toenyes was a member of Missouri B.A.S.S. Masters; and

WHEREAS, Cody Toenyes enjoyed working with his hands whether it was tinkering on vehicles or woodworking; he also loved riding his motorcycle and fishing; and

WHEREAS, Cody Toenyes was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Edward and Mary Meyers; and

WHEREAS, Cody Toenyes is survived by his parents; his fiancée, Justine Joiner; his daughter, Kinslee Toenyes; his daughter on the way, Renlee; his siblings, Dustan Toenyes and Courtney (Alex) Taylor; his grandparents, Carol and Wayne Utt and Jake and Irene Toenyes; his aunts and uncles, Ed and Teresa Meyers, Larry Meyers, Cathy and Gerry Villhauer, Ben Meyers, and Holly West; his nieces, Lily and McKenlee; his nephew, Maverick; and his special friends, Michelle and Steve Price and Lukus and Lindsey Crone; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Cody W. Toenyes and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Cody Toenyes as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
