SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Richard "Rich" Ryza of Des Plaines, who passed away on August 18, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Richard Ryza attended Proviso East High School; he later joined the U.S. Air Force, where he served as an airplane mechanic; and

WHEREAS, Richard Ryza worked for 37 years as a heating and air-conditioning installer, retiring from Ibbotson Heating Company; and

WHEREAS, Richard Ryza was a Weblos and Boy Scout Leader with Pack and Troop 25 in Des Plaines; he volunteered at the Des Plaines Self Help Food Pantry and was captain of the Forest Avenue Neighborhood Watch for many years; and

WHEREAS, Richard Ryza's family was always the most important thing to him; he loved his home and enjoyed working on it; he also enjoyed model railroading, woodworking, dancing, camping, and golf; he would always be willing to go out of his way to lend a helping hand; and

WHEREAS, Richard Ryza was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah; his parents, Marie and Paul; and his brother, Paul Ryza; and

WHEREAS, Richard Ryza is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Ruth; his children, David and Greg; his daughter-in-law, Kim; his three grandchildren, Rachel, Kylie, and Zach; his sister, Venessa Riley; his brother-in-law, James Riley; and his half brother, Paul Richardson; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Richard "Rich" Ryza and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Richard Ryza as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
