| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Katherine Aldine Langstaff-Adams of | 4 | | Fairbury, who passed away on June 5, 2022; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Katherine Langstaff-Adams was born to Dr. James | 6 | | Hartzel Langstaff and Mary Durbin Langstaff in Chicago on | 7 | | August 26, 1942; she attended Fairbury Public Schools and | 8 | | later the Patricia Stevens Modeling School in Chicago; she | 9 | | married Mathew Adams in Fairbury on August 1, 1971; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Katherine Langstaff-Adams worked as a | 11 | | professional model for several years; after raising her four | 12 | | children, she began her long career as a rural mail carrier for | 13 | | the U.S. Postal Service in Bloomington, retiring in 2003; | 14 | | following retirement, she moved back to her hometown of | 15 | | Fairbury, where she lived until her death; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Katherine Langstaff-Adams had a lifelong love of | 17 | | music and enjoyed singing in the church choir; she loved | 18 | | fashion and enjoyed dressing up for any occasion; she was an | 19 | | avid reader and sometimes read a book a day; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Katherine Langstaff-Adams loved spending time | 21 | | with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and |

| 1 | | great-grandchildren; she will be remembered for her infectious | 2 | | personality that had a positive impact on everyone around her; | 3 | | and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Katherine Langstaff-Adams was preceded in death | 5 | | by her husband; her parents; her sister, Mary Lynn Unser; and | 6 | | her brother, James H. Langstaff III; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Katherine Langstaff-Adams is survived by her | 8 | | children, Kelly (Cindy) Kinate, Kandace (Robert) Boudra, Sean | 9 | | (Graciana) McGivney, and Jason (Alandra) Adams; her | 10 | | grandchildren, Heather (John) Romang, Nicholas (Autumn) | 11 | | Boudra, Benjamin Boudra, Megan Boudra, Amira McGivney, Ian | 12 | | Adams, Lucas Adams, and Ryan McGivney; her | 13 | | great-grandchildren, Emilia Romang, Oliver Romang, Savannah | 14 | | Boudra, and Felicity Boudra; her brothers-in-law, Bob Vietti | 15 | | and Al Unser; her niece, Nici (Jason) Putnam; and her nephew, | 16 | | Travis (Annie) Unser; therefore, be it
| 17 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 18 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 19 | | Katherine Aldine Langstaff-Adams and extend our sincere | 20 | | condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 21 | | her; and be it further
