SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Johnnie L. Mohr of Taylor Ridge, who
4passed away on December 13, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Johnnie Mohr was born to Henry and Esther
6(Wilhelm) Mohr in rural Viola on March 19, 1935; he served in
7the U.S. Army; he married Shirley Acker in Edgington on June
814, 1959; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Johnnie Mohr worked at the Rock Island Argus for
10over 20 years; later, he worked for Murray's Transfer &
11Storage and U-Stor-It; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Johnnie Mohr was an active member of the Gold
13Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA) with memberships in both
14the IL-H2 Chapter in Galesburg and the IA-O Chapter in
15Davenport; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Johnnie Mohr was named the GWRRA District
17Individual of the Year for the State of Iowa in 2017; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Johnnie Mohr had a lifelong love for motorcycles;
19he was proud to have ridden over one million miles and to have
20traveled to 49 states; and

1    WHEREAS, Johnnie Mohr was preceded in death by his
2parents; his sister, Irene Mohr; three sisters in infancy; and
3his faithful canine companion, Hannah; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Johnnie Mohr is survived by his children, Linda
5Mohr (Gerald Marr) and Richard (Donnita) Mohr; his
6grandchildren, Aspen Mohr, Jackson (Jo) Mohr, and Dawson Mohr;
7and his great-granddaughter, Lily Mohr; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Johnnie L. Mohr and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Johnnie Mohr as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
