SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
50 ILCS 105/1.4 new
50 ILCS 105/1.1 rep.

    Amends the Public Officer Prohibited Activities Act. Provides that a member of a county board or county board of commissioners may not also hold the office of township highway commissioner. Repeals a Section providing that a member of the county board in a county having fewer than 550,000 inhabitants, during the term of office for which he is elected, may also hold the office of township highway commissioner. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning local government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Public Officer Prohibited Activities Act is
5amended by adding Section 1.4 as follows:
 
6    (50 ILCS 105/1.4 new)
7    Sec. 1.4. County board member as highway commissioner. A
8member of a county board or county board of commissioners may
9not also hold the office of township highway commissioner.
 
10    (50 ILCS 105/1.1 rep.)
11    Section 10. The Public Officer Prohibited Activities Act
12is amended by repealing Section 1.1.
 
13    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
14becoming law.
