SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Larry W. Phillips of Rock Island, who passed away on December 23, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Larry Phillips was born in Leon, Iowa to Charles E. and Frances E. (Paris) Phillips on March 4, 1948; he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era as a helicopter mechanic and door gunner; he married Linda Cutkomp in Rock Island on July 4, 1991; and

WHEREAS, Larry Phillips worked as a truck driver for over 42 years; and

WHEREAS, Larry Phillips was a member of Milan American Legion Post 569; he enjoyed working on cars in his spare time; he was very proud of his family and his military service; and

WHEREAS, Larry Phillips was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Charles L. Phillips; and

WHEREAS, Larry Phillips is survived by his wife, Linda; his mother; his children, Tonya (Scott) Lambert, Stacey (Tim) Terhune, and Anna Bousson; his grandchildren, Caitlin Lambert, Logan Lambert, Allie Terhune, and Braden Clark; his siblings, Jeannie Phillips, Tommie (Debbie) Phillips, Timmie (Elaine) Phillips, and Sheryl Carlin; and his extended family members and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Larry W. Phillips and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Larry Phillips as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
