SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Juanita Johnessee of Bunker Hill, who passed away on January 15, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Juanita Johnessee was born in Clementsville, Kentucky to Logan Pettyjohn and Eva Atwood Pettyjohn on February 27, 1934; she graduated from Bunker Hill High School in 1952 and married Robert F. Johnessee at the Berean Baptist Church in Bunker Hill on September 4, 1953; she was a homemaker and a member of the Berean Baptist Church; and

WHEREAS, Juanita Johnessee was preceded in death by her parents, Logan Pettyjohn and Eva Atwood Pettyjohn; her sisters, Janeva Garrison and Beatrice Throne; and her brothers, Roy Pettyjohn, Lee Pettyjohn, and Coy Pettyjohn; and

WHEREAS, Juanita Johnessee is survived by her husband, Robert F. Johnessee; her children, Robert L. (Heidi) Johnessee and Deborah Dorrington; her grandchildren, Major Robert (Veronica) Johnessee, Brian (Sara) Johnessee, Bethany (Joshua) Eldridge, Sara (Eric) Cayton, James Dorrington, and Benjamin (Christi) Dorrington; her nine great-grandchildren; and her sister, Thelma "Poodle" Roberts; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Juanita Johnessee and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Juanita Johnessee as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
