SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Master Chief John Thomas Willmon Sr. of
4Staunton, who passed away on December 14, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, MCPO Willmon Sr. was born in Kansas City, Kansas
6to Mr. and Mrs. Carl Willmon on September 2, 1947; he graduated
7from Turner High School in 1964; he married Patricia Ann
8"Patty" Hartman in Raytown, Missouri; and
 
9    WHEREAS, MCPO Willmon Sr. served in the US Navy for 32
10years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, MCPO Willmon Sr. was a member of the First United
12Methodist Church of Staunton, the Staunton VFW, the Staunton
13American Legion, and the National Rifle Association; his
14hobbies included baseball, coaching, woodworking, and writing;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, MCPO Willmon Sr. was preceded in death by his
17parents; his brothers, Carl Willmon and Lee Willmon; and his
18sister, Winnie Mae Lee Willmon Ponder; and
 
19    WHEREAS, MCPO Willmon is survived by his wife, Patty
20Willmon; his children, Kathreen (Russell) Willmon Bollinger,

1Kenneth (Stasi) Willmon, and John (Amy) Willmon Jr.; his
2grandchildren, Tanner, Hunter, Gabe, and Lillian; his
3great-grandson, Mason; his brothers, Fred Willmon and David Lee
4Willmon; his sister, Norma Ruth Houston; and many nieces and
5nephews; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Master Chief John Thomas Willmon Sr. and extend our sincere
9condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
10him; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Master Chief Willmon Sr. as an
13expression of our deepest sympathy.
