SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Herman Stallworth Jr., who passed away on
4September 7, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Herman Stallworth was born in Chicago to Herman
6Sr. and Mary L. Stallworth on August 8, 1956; he graduated from
7Bennett Elementary School and Harlen High School, where he was
8valedictorian; he continued his secondary education at the
9Illinois Institute of Technology; he married Arnese Smith on
10December 31, 1977; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Herman Stallworth worked for various companies as
12a chemical engineer; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Herman Stallworth was a member of Saint James AME
14Church, where he taught Sunday school; he was an avid bowler
15and a member of various leagues; he was the treasurer of the
16Harry Bentley Sunday Morning Men's League and a member of the
17Castaway Seniors and Union Elite Bowling Leagues; he also
18enjoyed being an advocate for the AA Association; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Herman Stallworth was preceded in death by his
20parents; and

1    WHEREAS, Herman Stallworth is survived by his wife of 41
2years, Arnese; his children, Sherman, Michon (Brijette), and
3Ebony; his grandchildren, Keywone, Khya, and Willow; his
4brother, Andrew (Dawn) Stallworth; his sisters, Rachael
5Carlton (Dan) and Marie Moore; his aunt, Comella Smith; his
6sisters-in-law, Marcita (Kelvin) Highsmith, Delonia (Steven)
7Smith, Trina (the late Daryl) Matthews, and Alicia (Kyle)
8Scroggins; his brother-in-law, William (Michelle) Smith; and
9numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends;
10therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Herman Stallworth Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to his
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Herman Stallworth as an expression
18of our deepest sympathy.
