| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of George William Rose of Coal Valley, who | 4 | | passed away on November 5, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, George Rose was born in Moline to John T. and | 6 | | Bertha I. (Howell) Rose on November 26, 1949; he served in the | 7 | | U.S. Air Force from 1967 to 1969 and married Linda Lindstrom in | 8 | | Moline on April 3, 1971; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, George Rose was employed with the Illinois | 10 | | Department of Transportation as a lead worker out of the Silvis | 11 | | Yard for over 30 years; in his younger years, he was a | 12 | | part-time farmer; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, George Rose was a former commander with Orion | 14 | | American Legion Post #255, where he was on the Honor Guard; he | 15 | | was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Orion; he was an | 16 | | avid hunter and taught hunter safety; he enjoyed watching the | 17 | | QC Thunder, Bulls, Cubs, and Bears; he also played the guitar | 18 | | and piano; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, George Rose was preceded in death by his parents | 20 | | and his daughter, Jennifer L. Miller; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, George Rose is survived by his wife, Linda; his | 2 | | siblings, Donald Rose, Steve (Karen) Rose, Marcia Rose (Robert) | 3 | | Hayd, and Janet (Pat) Parson; his granddaughter, Alyssa | 4 | | McCorkle; and his son-in-law, Gerald M. Miller Jr.; therefore, | 5 | | be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | George William Rose and extend our sincere condolences to his | 9 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 10 | | further
| 11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 | | presented to the family of George Rose as an expression of our | 13 | | deepest sympathy.
