SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Kimberly A. "Kim" Hopper of Raymond, who passed away on November 11, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Kim Hopper was born in Sullivan, Indiana to Gregory Carl and Mary "Betty" Elizabeth Mills Boyd on August 31, 1975; she graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a bachelor's degree in psychology and a minor in English and a teacher's certification; she married Aaron W. Hopper in Westfield on June 8, 1996; and

WHEREAS, Kim Hopper worked as an English and psychology teacher and librarian at South Central School; and

WHEREAS, Kim Hopper took on the role of teacher and filled leadership roles at Pleasant Hill Christian Church near Raymond; she was the Vacation Bible School director and the youth director at church camp; she was the lifeguard at the Salvation Army Youth Camp and director for the Panhandle PTO Scholastic Book Fair; she helped with youth sporting events throughout the year and served as secretary for six years on the Doyle Public Library Board; and

WHEREAS, Kim Hopper was preceded in death by her father, Greg, and her grandparents; and

WHEREAS, Kim Hopper is survived by her husband, Aaron; her children, Emily Grace, Evan Wesley, and Eden Faith; her mother, Betty (Richard) Hippler; her siblings, Cindi (Jay) Lewis, Amy Mullen, Sarah (Jeremy) Tomes, Robert (Jenni) Boyd, John (Amanda) Boyd, and Brian (Missie) Duvall; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Marie Hopper; her brother-in-law, Jeremy (Jane) Hopper; her sister-in-law, Rebekah (Sean) Lybarger; her grandmother-in-law, Fairy Alice Mills; and 15 nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Kimberly A. "Kim" Hopper and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Kim Hopper as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
