SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Kenneth R. Peterson of Rock Island, who
4passed away on October 18, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Kenneth Peterson was born in Moline to Philip and
6Albertina Carlson Peterson on September 12, 1926; following
7high school, he joined the U.S. Navy; he married Betty Stout at
8First Lutheran Church in Rock Island on June 2, 1951; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Kenneth Peterson retired from Deere Harvester as a
10senior engineer in 1982, after 35 years; he spent three years
11in the expat program, which placed him and his family in
12Zweibrucken, Germany; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Kenneth Peterson was a lifelong member of First
14Lutheran Church; he was a proud volunteer for Junior
15Achievement; he enjoyed traveling with Betty and wintered for
16many years in Florida; he loved to play golf and tennis; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Kenneth Peterson was preceded in death by his
18parents; his sister, Dorothy Lund; and his brothers, Donald and
19Keith Peterson; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Kenneth Peterson is survived by his wife of 68

1years, Betty Peterson; his children, Kathleen Peterson, Linda
2(Warren) Hartmann, and Craig (Cherie) Peterson; his
3grandchildren, Julia and Caroline Hartmann, Patti (Barry)
4Nord, Jenni (Tom) Wallaert, and Casey (Tanya) Peterson; his
5great-grandchildren, Emma, Dylan, Kenley, Weston, Corey, and
6Candice; and his sister, Joyce Anderson; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Kenneth R. Peterson and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Kenneth Peterson as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
