SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ned L. Gosa Sr. of Moline, who passed away on October 18, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Ned Gosa was born in Beaverton, Alabama to Lee and Leila (Stanford) Gosa on June 24, 1937; he married June Gengler in Muscatine, Iowa on June 2, 1956; and

WHEREAS, Ned Gosa worked as a mechanic for Alcoa for 40 years; and

WHEREAS, Ned Gosa was a member of Saint Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Coal Valley; he traveled to Alabama to visit family and took many road trips out west; he was an Alabama football fan and enjoyed taking care of his yard and garden; he loved spending time with his family and teasing his grandchildren; he had a great memory and was a great storyteller; and

WHEREAS, Ned Gosa was preceded in death by his wife, June; his son, Ned Gosa Jr.; his brother, Edward Gosa; and his sister, Annette Helms; and

WHEREAS, Ned Gosa is survived by his children, Tina (Tom) Prister and John (Jennifer) Gosa; his daughter-in-law, Terrina Gosa; his grandchildren, Alicia Prister, Justin (Tiffany Jackson) Prister, Jonathan Prister, Andrew (Ludmila) Prister, and Chloe, Benjamin, and Adam Gosa; his sister, Vicki (David) Spurlin; and his great-grandchildren, Nolan Holcombe and Wulfe Prister; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Ned L. Gosa Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ned Gosa as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
