SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Gilbert Lewis Hebenstreit of Gillespie,
4who passed away on September 2, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gilbert Hebenstreit was born in Staunton to Donald
6and Louise (Calcari) Hebenstreit on January 11, 1938; he was a
7veteran of the United States Marine Corps; he married Mary Jean
8Goehe; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Gilbert Hebenstreit was the owner and operator of
10many businesses, including Hebenstreit Funeral Home,
11Hebenstreit Furniture Store, 3M Sanitation, Hebenstreit
12Apartments, and car washes; he was also a distributor for
13Anheuser Busch; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Gilbert Hebenstreit enjoyed spending time with
15family and friends and cooking; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Gilbert Hebenstreit was preceded in death by his
17parents and his brother, Donald Hebenstreit; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Gilbert Hebenstreit is survived by his wife, Mary
19Jean; his children, Mary Louise "Weiser" Hebenstreit, Gene
20(Stephanie) Hebenstreit, and Margaret "Margie" (Mike) Brill;

1his grandchildren, Britt Hebenstreit, Chelsey (Brandon)
2Semplowski, Alec Hebenstreit, and Maris Brill; his
3great-grandchildren, Marlee Hebenstreit, Rowdy Hebenstreit,
4Viera Hebenstreit, Noah Semplowski, Alyvia Semplowski, and
5Liam Semplowski; and his sister-in-law, Mary L. Hebenstreit;
6therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Gilbert Lewis Hebenstreit and extend our sincere condolences to
10his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Gilbert Hebenstreit as an expression
14of our deepest sympathy.
