SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert L. "Bob" Verhaeghe of East Moline, who passed away on September 1, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Bob Verhaeghe was born in Moline to Julius and Rachel Verhaeghe on August 6, 1927; he served in the United States Army during World War II; he married Joyce Moore at St. Mary's Catholic Church in East Moline on July 14, 1951; and

WHEREAS, In 1985, Bob Verhaeghe retired from John Deere Harvester, East Moline after 42 years of service; he then gave tours of the Harvester Plant and Davenport Works for 18 years; and

WHEREAS, Bob Verhaeghe bowled for over 50 years; he also enjoyed playing bingo and going to casinos; and

WHEREAS, Bob Verhaeghe was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce; his siblings, George Verhaeghe and Margaret (Harvey) Wriedt; and his son-in-law, John Versypt; and

WHEREAS, Bob Verhaeghe is survived by his children, Janet Versypt, Ronald (Cindy) Verhaeghe, Cathy (Ron) Pershy, Lorrie (Ron) Williams, and Robert E. (Denise) Verhaeghe; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert L. "Bob" Verhaeghe and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bob Verhaeghe as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
