SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Richard G. Le Comte of Rock Island, who passed away on August 8, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Richard Le Comte was born in Moline to George and Lillian (Stratton) Le Comte on October 5, 1932 and was raised by Hazel and Bob Pettit; he served in the U.S. Army and married Norene Polacek in Moline on December 28, 1952; and

WHEREAS, Richard Le Comte was a machine operator at Alcoa for 40 years, retiring in the 1990s; and

WHEREAS, Richard Le Comte was a former trustee of the Coal Valley Village Board; he was a life member of the Rock Island VFW and a member of Alcoa Retirees, the Coal Valley Lions Club, and the Lutheran faith; he enjoyed a great experience on an Honor Flight to Washington and loved to run, bowl, and fish; family was important to him, and he was proud of building his own home in Coal Valley; and

WHEREAS, Richard Le Comte was preceded in death by his sons-in-law, Ross Hall and Billy Cathcart, and his sisters, Edith Ransom and Aileen Berg; and

WHEREAS, Richard Le Comte is survived by his wife, Norene; his daughters, Margo Hall, Pam (Bill) Comstock, Kim (Tom) Frazier, Jack Davis, and Alicia (Dan) Johnson; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and his foster mother, Hazel Pettit; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Richard G. Le Comte and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Richard Le Comte as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
