SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Richard G. Le Comte of Rock Island, who
4passed away on August 8, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Richard Le Comte was born in Moline to George and
6Lillian (Stratton) Le Comte on October 5, 1932 and was raised
7by Hazel and Bob Pettit; he served in the U.S. Army and married
8Norene Polacek in Moline on December 28, 1952; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Richard Le Comte was a machine operator at Alcoa
10for 40 years, retiring in the 1990s; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Richard Le Comte was a former trustee of the Coal
12Valley Village Board; he was a life member of the Rock Island
13VFW and a member of Alcoa Retirees, the Coal Valley Lions Club,
14and the Lutheran faith; he enjoyed a great experience on an
15Honor Flight to Washington and loved to run, bowl, and fish;
16family was important to him, and he was proud of building his
17own home in Coal Valley; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Richard Le Comte was preceded in death by his
19sons-in-law, Ross Hall and Billy Cathcart, and his sisters,
20Edith Ransom and Aileen Berg; and

1    WHEREAS, Richard Le Comte is survived by his wife, Norene;
2his daughters, Margo Hall, Pam (Bill) Comstock, Kim (Tom)
3Frazier, Jack Davis, and Alicia (Dan) Johnson; 13
4grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and his foster mother,
5Hazel Pettit; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Richard G. Le Comte and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Richard Le Comte as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
