SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Richard A. Schulmeister of Milan, who passed away on August 8, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Richard Schulmeister was born in Rock Island to Gustav and Lucille Nares Schulmeister on November 10, 1951; he graduated from Rock Island High School and later attended St. Ambrose University; he married Nancy J. Berndt in Moline on April 20, 1974; and

WHEREAS, Richard Schulmeister was a veteran of the United States Navy; he retired from John Deere Plow Planter; and

WHEREAS, Richard Schulmeister was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Milan; he enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, and the "Salt Life"; his favorite times were those spent with friends and family, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored; and

WHEREAS, Richard Schulmeister was preceded in death by his father; his mother; and his stepmother, Elsie Schulmeister; and

WHEREAS, Richard Schulmeister is survived by his wife Nancy; his daughter, Carrie (Chad) Ware; his son, Brent Schulmeister; his grandchildren, Ethan Ware, Ava Ware, Emma Ware, Andruw Schulmeister, and William "Gus" Schulmeister; his sisters, Patricia Sloan and Jean (Ronald) Apple; his brother, Robert Schulmeister; his many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and their families; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Richard A. Schulmeister and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Richard Schulmeister as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
