SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Frank J. Stefanich of Naples, Florida, formerly of Moline, who passed away on July 23, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Frank Stefanich was born in Aurora to Frank and Magie (Barbic) Stefanich on December 5, 1917; he was a veteran of World War II and earned three Bronze Star medals in the three different Pacific Theaters; and

WHEREAS, Frank Stefanich worked as an industrial manufacturing welder in Moline for 37 years; he then worked as a maintenance engineer at Sacred Heart Elementary School for many years; and

WHEREAS, After the death of his wife, Frank Stefanich moved to Naples, Florida to be near his niece, Joanne, and great-niece, Debbie, who shared a love of McDonald's hamburgers with him every Wednesday; he was an avid walker and walked four to nine miles each day; later in life, he enjoyed watching the Stanley Cup playoffs and other sports and spending time with his great-nephew, Mark; and

WHEREAS, Frank Stefanich was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Carmie; and

WHEREAS, Frank Stefanich is survived by his half-sister, Annie Retel; his sister-in-law, Josie (Cirrincione) Davito; many nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Frank J. Stefanich and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Frank Stefanich as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
