SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Frank J. Stefanich of Naples, Florida,
4formerly of Moline, who passed away on July 23, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Frank Stefanich was born in Aurora to Frank and
6Magie (Barbic) Stefanich on December 5, 1917; he was a veteran
7of World War II and earned three Bronze Star medals in the
8three different Pacific Theaters; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Frank Stefanich worked as an industrial
10manufacturing welder in Moline for 37 years; he then worked as
11a maintenance engineer at Sacred Heart Elementary School for
12many years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, After the death of his wife, Frank Stefanich moved
14to Naples, Florida to be near his niece, Joanne, and
15great-niece, Debbie, who shared a love of McDonald's hamburgers
16with him every Wednesday; he was an avid walker and walked four
17to nine miles each day; later in life, he enjoyed watching the
18Stanley Cup playoffs and other sports and spending time with
19his great-nephew, Mark; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Frank Stefanich was preceded in death by his wife
21of 69 years, Carmie; and

1    WHEREAS, Frank Stefanich is survived by his half-sister,
2Annie Retel; his sister-in-law, Josie (Cirrincione) Davito;
3many nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces, great-nephews,
4great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Frank J. Stefanich and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Frank Stefanich as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
